The Ideas Competition, "Inspired – The Ideas Competition. In MV." is aimed at anyone who wants to develop an innovative idea or research outcome. We are looking for innovative ideas and research results from the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern research area. The competition is open to a wide range of individuals interested in setting up a business, including students, research assistants, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, professors, graduates, members of participating research institutes, craftspeople, and others. You can participate both individually and in teams. There is no industry focus – ideas from all disciplines and subject areas are welcome. Participants will benefit from coaching, workshops and attractive prize money to help them take the next step towards setting up their own business.

On June 16, 2026, the best ideas and most innovative projects from the Rostock research community were honored in the auditorium of the main building at the University of Rostock. In two categories, the finalists impressed a high-caliber jury of entrepreneurs and scientists from the region. In addition to the prize money, sponsored by MBG MV, the Rostock Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK), GENIUS Venture Capital GmbH, and Duschkraft GmbH, an audience award—sponsored by Tweedback GmbH—was also presented this year.
