On June 3, 2021, the most original business ideas and groundbreaking research findings from the Rostock Research Area were honored as part of the “inspired” ideas competition.
The goal of the competition is to identify innovative technologies and ideas at the University of Rostock and research institutions in the Rostock region and to support them not only with financial resources but also with valuable contacts, intensive coaching, and important practical insights.
“Potential founders should be motivated and supported early on in their projects,” says Tino Arnhold, one of the competition’s coordinators. The competition finalists presented their ideas in the COVID-19-compliant live studio at the Digital Innovation Center at Albert-Einstein-Straße 21 to a jury—composed of experienced entrepreneurs and scientists from the region—who joined via videoconference. The top three teams in the “Students” and “Researchers & Graduates” categories will receive prize money and awards totaling 10,000 euros, donated by companies in the region—including three special prizes in the areas of “Healthcare/Life Sciences,” “Innovative Products,” and “Environmental Technologies and Services,” each worth 1,000 euros.
