2016: „Inspired – The Ideas Competition. In MV.“

The Best Ideas Received Their Awards

On July 13, 2016, the most original business ideas and groundbreaking research findings from the state’s universities and colleges—Greifswald, Schwerin, Wismar, Stralsund, Neubrandenburg, and Rostock—were honored as part of the “inspired” ideas competition. The goal of the competition is to identify innovative technologies and ideas at universities and research institutions and to support them not only with financial resources but also with valuable contacts, intensive coaching, and important practical insights.

The competition finalists presented their ideas in exactly 30 seconds and impressed the audience with their creativity and ingenuity. The top three teams in the “Students” and “Researchers & Graduates” categories will receive prize money totaling 3,500 euros, donated by companies in the region, as well as continuing education vouchers worth a total of 15,000 euros and the opportunity to participate in an exclusive two-day tour of Berlin’s startup scene.

The Rostock-based project coordinators for “Inspired – The Ideas Competition. In MV.”—Kathrin Krüger-Borgwardt and Tino Arnhold from the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Rostock—are very pleased with the strong response: “We were particularly pleased with the breadth of the submissions. This year’s winning ideas come from a wide variety of fields, such as botany, food development, sports, and education. This clearly shows that there are many paths to self-employment.”
