The winners of the 2022 Ideas Contest have been announced

On June 22, 2022, the most original business ideas and groundbreaking research findings from the Rostock Research Area were honored as part of the “inspired” ideas competition.

The goal of the competition is to identify innovative technologies and ideas at the University of Rostock and research institutions in the Rostock region and to support them not only with funding but also with valuable contacts, intensive coaching, and important practical insights.

The competition finalists presented their ideas in the main building of the University of Rostock before a jury consisting of experienced entrepreneurs and scientists from the region. The top three teams in the “Students” and “Researchers & Graduates” categories will receive prize money and awards totaling 10,000 euros, donated by companies in the region—including two special prizes in the categories “Innovative Products” and “Environmental Technologies and Services,” each worth 1,000 euros.

The Award-Winning Ideas in the 2022 Special Categories

Special Award for “Innovative Products”
The Special Award for “Innovative Products” was presented for the best product idea. The winner was Pawel Naliwajko for his idea “Patchwork.” The award was sponsored by Limes Solutions GmbH.

Special Award for “Environmental Technologies and Services”
The “Environment” Special Award went to the most sustainable idea in this year’s competition. The award was split between two ideas: The winners were Dr. Konstantion Altrichter, Karl Hartmann, and Franziska Casjens for their idea “Rebonny,” and Stella Knaak and Abbas Mohammadi for their idea “Eco4you.” The award is sponsored by the environmental technology network enviMV
