The winners of the 2026 ideas competition have been announced

On June 16, 2026, the local ideas competition “inspired” honored the most innovative business ideas and groundbreaking research projects from the Rostock area in the auditorium of the main building at the University of Rostock.

“inspired” has a clear mission: to raise the profile of innovative ideas and technologies from the University of Rostock and regional research institutions, provide targeted support, and connect them with the right network. The winners receive not only financial support but also intensive coaching, guided press and public relations efforts, and valuable contacts in the business community. The finalists presented their projects to a high-caliber jury of experienced entrepreneurs and scientists from the region.

The prize money was generously donated by Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mbH, the Rostock Chamber of Industry and Commerce, GENIUS Venture Capital GmbH, and Duschkraft GmbH—companies that actively support and mentor innovative startup projects in the region. In addition, an audience award was presented this year, sponsored by Tweedback GmbH and determined by a vote from the evening’s audience.
