These are the questions addressed by the Verwertungsverband (VVB) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The VVB-MV is the point of contact for around 3,000 scientists in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and provides access to research results protected by property rights.
GENIUS Venture Capital GmbH
As a regional venture capital provider, GENIUS Venture Capital GmbH finances innovation-driven technology companies in the start-up and early growth phases. Investments are typically made jointly with independent private investors in technology-oriented micro and small businesses in the seed, start-up, and initial expansion phases with headquarters or significant operations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Genius currently manages two venture capital funds on behalf of the Ministry of Economics, Labor, and Health of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mbH supports small and medium-sized enterprises in the state in implementing promising projects by providing capital. Like an investor, it joins the company and thus acquires a stake in it. Unlike traditional private equity companies, MBMV does not become a co-entrepreneur with its typical silent partnership, which is the correct term for the capital contribution. It therefore does not actively participate in the management of the company and does not hold a stake in the company's assets. As a partner of the company, MBMV merely has a right to information regarding the business and operating conditions.

(FMV Research Association of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania). The association also focuses on developing ideas and business plans, analyzing and selecting financing options in the pre-startup phase, and providing coaching by experienced entrepreneurs on all aspects of technology startups (e.g., market, strategy, sales, company structure, subsidies, etc.).

SPiNOFF project, a project of DIZ Rostock
Since 1996, the SPiNOFF project has been supporting the transfer of research results from science to industry in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Scientists and members of universities and research institutions in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, as well as founders of technology-oriented companies in the state, make use of the various SPiNOFF services.
Coordination office “Business succession in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania”
Companies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania need more extensive support in the process of succession planning. That is why the project “Business Succession in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania” was launched at the end of 2015 on the joint initiative of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, the Chambers of Crafts, the Ministry of Economics of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and the BMV. It serves as a central point of contact for entrepreneurs and founders interested in succession.
