Evaluation criteria
1st selection stage: Evaluation of the idea sketch
In the first selection stage, a maximum of 12 ideas in each of categories I and II will be selected for presentation to the jury. If more than 12 submissions meet the eligibility requirements, the jury will make a preliminary decision based on the persuasiveness of the respective idea sketches using the following equally weighted selection criteria:

- Innovation, originality of the project
To what extent is the idea innovative? What innovative products/processes/services is the business idea based on? Does the idea already exist in a similar form? What is unique about the idea? What is better about the idea than alternatives?
- Customer benefit
What problem does the idea solve? Who needs the product/service? What does the potential target group look like? Who are the customers? How can the benefit be described precisely? What is the specific advantage of the idea compared to alternative products/services on the market?
- Market potential and exploitation prospects
Is there a real market and target groups for the idea? To what extent are the market and target groups limited? Does the idea have a unique selling point? What makes the idea unique from the customer's point of view? What opportunities and risks are there in the potential market and in the implementation of the idea? Are there potential competitors and rivals?
- Probability of realization
Can the idea be implemented in practice? Are there real start-up opportunities? How likely is it to be realized? Are partners possibly necessary for feasibility? Are further development steps necessary?
- Motivation and skills of the founding team
What are the core competencies of the founding team? What is the team's motivation for pursuing or implementing the project? What qualifications does the team have and which specialist areas are covered by the potential founders? To what extent are the participants' previous experiences helpful for the further course of development?
- Regional significance/structural impact in M-V (optional)
What significance does the idea have for M-V? Does it address challenges specific to the region and society (e.g. demographic change, climate protection)? Does the project have the potential to create jobs?
2nd selection stage: Evaluation of the presentation in front of the jury
The decision on the best ideas in the second selection stage will be made on the one hand on the basis of the submitted idea sketches according to the above criteria of the first selection stage (50% weighting) and on the other hand through the max. 10-minute presentation to the jury and a subsequent max. 10-minute question and answer session (50% weighting) according to the following criteria:

- Presentation of the idea
- Entrepreneurial personality,
- Answering questions from the jury.
The award ceremony takes place after the presentations.
Legal recourse is excluded.
